Never Say Never

Well here I go, delving in to the wild world of blogging!

Let me preface this blog to say that I am not a writer, never was. (Yeah, I know I just said never and in this case I am letting it slide and so should you :-) ) In fact I hated writing growing up, 97% of my papers were aided by the help of my loving father (So to my 6th grade teacher - that five page in-depth research paper on red-tailed hawks that scored an A++ and the note saying how well it was written... let's just say I appreciate the sentiment.) And I also apologize to my mother-in-law, the former English teacher.  I thank God that your son didn't marry me for my perfect grammar.

So why NEVER say NEVER?  I have learned a lot in my old age (I can see the eye rolls now). Several circumstances in my life have started with "I would/could never do that" and ended with "well, I just did that."    Some examples: hiking the Grand Canyon, studying abroad, graduating college, having kids, running over 6 miles, starting my own business, writing a blog...the list could do on.  Oh sure, there are plenty of nevers and can'ts in the back of my mind and in due time I will turn them into done and dids.

Maybe something I have learned is when I hear the words cant or never I become a pain in my own tukus, my competitive side kicks in and I need to prove myself wrong.  Sure I will complain and pout the entire time (my family loves that part), yet with all the twists and turns and by the grace of God those dreams become reality.  And the same goes for you - set your mind to something and the sky is the limit, heck why stop at the sky, there is no limit!

So what is my goal for this blog?  To further your knowledge of just how cool Molly Johnson Photography is and why you really need to work with her, to highlight some of the weddings and sessions I photograph, and to hear what you have to say about whatever it is you want to say.

Lets start with this - What is something you said you would/could never do and in the end did it or any input you would like to give me?  I can't wait to hear your comments!

P.S.  I am not proud of my appearance over the years, so no judging.  But how cute is little Ricky! P.S. I am not proud of my appearance over the years, so no judging. But how cute is little Ricky!

I can do all this through Him who gives me strength. ~ Philippians 4:13

Sometimes it's not about the comments you receive or didn't, but the impact you made and what you left for those who read your blog to think about and ponder; and to know that you probably made someone step back and look at their life from a different perspective, a perspective that something more powerful than us is in control of our lives. You definitely did that for me and I am grateful for that. Thank you for reminding me that God knows best and made us who we are.
